Tea tree EO (also known as melaleuca) is a “jack of all trades” as far as remedies go for health, cleaning and beauty. It has such a diversity of usefulness that’s both practical and convenient that you’ll never want to live without it again!

For the medicine cabinet x. Also known as ‘first aid in a bottle’, its antibacterial, anti-fungal, antiseptic and antimicrobial properties make it so versatile that its used to cure acne, cough, flu, or to get rid of dandruff and lice, to treating skin problems such as eczema and psoriasis, plus its also effective as a painkiller.

Its also a potent treatment for warts, along with toenail fungus and athlete’s foot. It soothes insect bites, removes ticks; (just add to skin, and the little stinker will usually unlatch) and treats ringworm.

Tea Tree EO also alleviates asthma and other breathing conditions such as coughing, sinusitis, and bronchitis. Its powerful in the treatment of earaches, (mix 1 drop of tea tree oil with 1 tsp. olive oil, drop mixture into the ear and then remove by tilting head).

For the mind/nevous system x. Tea Tree EO is divine at clearing the mind and bring about focus and concentration.

For the home/cleaning x. If you want a powerful natural cleaner then tea tree is your answer. With it antimicrobial, antifungal, antiseptic, bactericidal, and insecticidal properties, its essential for the sanitising your home.

Tea tree is outstanding at treating mould; (just mix apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil just spray scrub, leave, then wash). You can also use it as a laundry booster for heavily soiled laundry, and fabric that tend to mould. The powerful antifungal properties of tea tree will help prevent bacterial and fungal infections. Also, if you left your washing in the machine for too long, run again with tea tree to remove mildew, and freshen. You can also scent wool balls with tea tree oil, and pop in the dryer to make your laundry smell delightful again.

Tea tree is wonderful as an all-purpose cleaner due to its sanitising properties; in a reusable eco spray bottle, mix 15 drops tea tree oil with 2 cups water. For a more powerful antiseptic spray for areas that need more attention—such as toilets—use more drops.

For beauty x. Avoid using those expensive, unnatural, chemical-ridden acne treatments. Dab a drop of tea tree oil on a damp cotton ball or q-tip and apply to trouble spots. It makes an effective homemade natural deodorant, on budget. It also amazing for dandruff and the oh so no head lice. (just put 10 drops in your shampoo so you never have to deal with those issues). Its also powerful for oral hygiene, and really effective used in a homemade toothpaste recipes as it brilliant in the treatment of gum conditions such gingivitis with the added bonus of curing bad breath. (Swish some tea tree oil and water in you mouth.)
